The Gospel of Jesus Christ, God clothed in human flesh, preached the gospel of the Kingdom. It is the good news: the best and most important news that any human being ever should hear. This Gospel is being the only way to know God in peace, love, and joy. This Gospel is the only Gospel: there is no other; and to change its substance is to pervert and indeed destroy it. Jesus’ mission, we see, centered on the gospel-the good news-of the Kingdom of God . Going through trials, I realized the purpose of my life: to share the news – the Truth; to share the core of the gospel message and the very heart of what we are to explain to the world; and bring God’s children closer to Him through Jesus ♥
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:1-9)
Believers today have the very same mission given to us! We are required to share to others in the world the gospel message. And we go about that mission with the Holy Spirit living inside us, guiding us as we share His truth.
Imagine being there in that time and place as one of the disciples, looking into His face and hearing those words. When a risen Jesus, who had conquered death, issued this directive to you, what would be your first priority? Those disciples made it their first concern; in fact, they made it the sole purpose of the remainder of their lives . . . until they lost them for it. They were transformed by the risen Lord who gave them a vision for the future that ultimately changed the world.
Restoring the real Christianity, and the real Jesus, to this world is a mission dear to my heart.
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
